Revelation Gives Restraint - Restraint actually Gives Freedom!

Where there is no revelation, people cast off restraint;
but blessed is the one who heeds wisdom's instruction. Proverbs 29:18

To humans belong the plans of the heart, but from the Lord comes the proper answer of the tongue. All a person's ways seem pure to them, but motives are weighed by the Lord. Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans. The Lord works out everything to its proper end—even the wicked for a day of disaster. Proverbs 16:1-4

Restraint - the act of restraining, holding back, controlling, or keeping in check. When we don't seek God we don't have vision and aren't given direction. When there's no direction and guidance (esspecially from the Source - our Creator God) we have no revelation. When there's no revelation we lose restraint - as we know not what we were created for and what we are to live for - so we live uncontrollably in lust and addiction, in what we think is freedom yet is bondage.

The Lord is calling a generation to know what they are called to do, have confident HOPE and exercise restraint. Restraints antonym is liberty in the dictionary (antonym means 'opposite of' in case you were wondering). However if you are in love with Jesus for any period of time - you know He does things a bit backward. Restraint actually brings liberty. When restraint is executed it is made obvious that the person exercising it is not in bondage to the thing He is restraining. People become obese in all kinds of sin because they don't exercise restraint.. Then the vicious cycle begins. no restraint - no revelation - no revelation - no restraint.

Surely the Sovereign Lord does nothing without revealing his plan to his servants the prophets. Amos 3:7

The Lord is calling out to a generation that is desperate for order. Restraint! Freedom.

Restraint with our finances, restraint with our mouths, restraint with our thoughts, restraint with our anger, restraint in our dating relationships, restraint with our bodies, restraint with our God given time and talents...restraint.

Wisdom is calling out! Be blessed! Restrain from the typical way that the world lives and HOPE AND LIVE IN THE LOVE OF GOD!

Restrain! Hope! Be established in the Lord. God wants to reveal His plans to people.

Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken. Ecclesiastes 4:12

1.Give 2.Fast and 3.Pray. All commands that require restraint! for the Lord will surely give you revelation and power as you exercise these 3 restraints!
